Jobtailor in Brussels is seeking a seasoned Front-end Engineer to craft production-grade front-ends with React and TypeScript. You will own UI components, journeys, and performance, while ensuring accessibility and security in API integrations.

You’ll work alongside design, product, and back-end teams, contribute to a design system, and mentor peers to raise engineering standards and delivery velocity.

Description du poste

• Build front-end experiences enabling customers to buy and manage insurance inside existing products
• Use modern developer tooling, including AI-assisted coding, to improve iteration speed, testing, refactoring, and documentation
• Build and evolve reusable UI components and user journeys in React and TypeScript
• Own front-end performance, Core Web Vitals, accessibility, reliability, and cross-device experience
• Contribute shared components, design tokens, and documentation to the design system using tools such as Storybook
• Collaborate with design, product, and back-end teams
• Integrate APIs and deliver secure front-end implementations covering authentication flows, data handling, XSS/CSRF awareness, and privacy by design
• Share knowledge through code reviews, pairing, and mentoring

Requirements

• Strong professional experience building production front-ends in React and TypeScript (typically 5+ years)
• Strong expertise in React and TypeScript in production, including component patterns, typing, performance, and maintainable architecture
• Experience writing automated unit, integration, and/or end-to-end tests
• Strong CSS fundamentals, including layout, responsiveness, and theming
• Experience with component-based UI development
• Strong HTML fundamentals, including form handling and semantics
• Experience integrating REST APIs, including authentication, error handling, and API contracts
• Understanding of React state-management patterns, including local state, context, and reducers
• Strong knowledge of WCAG accessibility guidelines
• Solid command of Git source control
• Familiarity with Playwright is a plus
• Exposure to state machines such as XState is a plus
• CI/CD familiarity, SSR frameworks such as Next.js, Remix, or React Router, and Node.js basics are bonuses
