Gaming1's finance department is made up of a team of around 30 people dedicated to accounting, purchasing, and financial planning and analysis. As part of their professional development and international growth strategy, our Finance team is looking for a Senior Financial Controller.
YOUR ROLE
You will ensure high-quality group consolidation and reporting, while driving key initiatives to professionalize the finance function (reporting optimization, AI projects, fast closing, IFRS, M&A, etc.) and deliver in-depth financial insights.
- Own and lead the end-to-end production of Group consolidation (IFRS and BE-GAAP) - scope validation, intercompany reconciliations, consolidation adjustments, ownership of the consolidation tools.
- Lead the production of Group reporting package (BS / CFS / P&L / Net Debt and other key indicators) and lead improvement initiatives (e.g.: working capital or cash optimization).
- Drive technical accounting topics (PPA, Impairments, IFRS developments, ...)
- Lead the preparation of annual consolidated financial statements, including IFRS notes and Group Cash Flow Statement (CFS), ensuring accuracy, compliance and audit readiness.
- Improve the efficiency and reliability of closing and reporting processes by reducing lead times, structuring documentation and enhancing consolidation procedures.
- Leverage Automation and AI tools to streamline processes, reporting and analysis, and challenge how things are done today.
- Analysis and insights
- Deliver in-depth analyses to support strategic decisions (e.g.: impact of acquisition or expansion projects, …)
- Monitor and challenge the financial performance of subsidiaries, tracking key indicators and flagging deviations.
- Project and Team Leadership
- Play a key role in cross-functional Finance transformation to strengthen the Finance organization and support value creation across the Group;
- Coach and develop a medior Finance controller (you will be direct report).
YOUR PROFILE
- Proven experience in Group Finance environments, with a good understanding of consolidation and financial reporting complexities
- Solid IFRS knowledge - or a high-potential profile keen to grow it - with exposure to consolidation topics (PPA, financial instruments, leases) and audited financial statements
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of ownership - able to structure topics, drive them forward and deliver with autonomy
- Strong interpersonal skills, comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels, from junior profiles to senior management
- Sharp critical thinking, with the ability to challenge assumptions, analyze situations in depth and propose relevant, value-driven alternatives
- High standards of quality, precision and reliability, ensuring robust and accurate deliverables
- Strong focus on process optimization and digitalization, with the ability to redesign existing processes to make them more efficient and less manual
- Efficiency-driven, constantly identifying and eliminating low value-added activities to maximize impact
