Jan De Nul Group in Aalst, Belgium is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Advisor Project Finance to drive financing for domestic and international dredging, offshore and civil projects. You will shape project finance structures, assess risk, and collaborate with banks, insurers, and clients.

You will coach junior colleagues, provide financial input for tenders, and deliver internal and external reporting.

About the role

To strengthen our internal finance department, we are currently looking for an experienced Financial Advisor to join our team at our offices in Aalst (Hofstade).

What you’ll do

As a Senior Financial Advisor Project Finance, you will be involved from A to Z within your financial domain in domestic and international projects across the various segments in which JDN Group operates: dredging and marine works, offshore, civil engineering, and environmental activities.

Your primary tasks and responsibilities include:

• You develop suitable financing solutions for assigned projects. You are involved in structuring and monitoring project-level credit facilities (PPP projects) and credits insured by an Export Credit Agency (Credendo / Delcredere-Ducroire, ODL, etc.).

• You are responsible for the risk assessment and management of new or existing projects. You handle the monitoring, analysis, and control of internal company risks (financial, insurance-related, payment, transfer, etc.), both on-balance and off-balance sheet. You also perform financial analyses of relevant business partners (clients, consortium partners, suppliers) to help mitigate risks.

• You actively participate in and lead financial working groups with clients, banks, and financial consultants.

• You maintain relationships with financial, multilateral, and insurance institutions regarding corporate finance, project finance, and structured finance.

• You coach and motivate junior colleagues within the team.

• You are responsible for providing financial input for new tenders.

• You are responsible for financial reporting and communication both internally (to management) and externally (e.g., to financial institutions).

You will work from our centralized and easily accessible offices in Aalst, Hofstade, with a willingness to travel occasionally for short business trips to our projects worldwide.What do you bring?

A Master’s degree in Business Engineering, Applied Economics, or Business Administration, combined with at least 10 years of relevant experience in a financial environment. You possess broad financial knowledge, with an affinity or interest in project finance. A solid understanding of and interest in financial modeling (Excel) is considered a plus.

• You are a results-driven, motivated person with a high degree of independence.
• You possess strong attention to detail and a structured, organized approach. You possess strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and a strong sense of responsibility.
• You have experience in guiding and coaching junior colleagues.
• You can communicate fluent in Dutch and English. Knowledge of French and Spanish is a plus.
• You are willing to undertake occasional short-term international travel for project negotiations.
