Job summary

Pauwels Consulting is seeking a specialist to ensure the technical integrity and quality of telecom network infrastructure in Belgium. You will manage design reviews, as-built documentation, and optimize engineering workflows through data analysis and automation.

You will work with FTTH knowledge, network inventory systems like Cocon, and GIS tools such as QGIS. French and English fluency is required to liaise with partners and internal teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in FTTH or telecom network design, documentation, or field engineering.
• Experience with network inventory systems such as Cocon or similar.
• Proficiency with GIS tools like QGIS.

Responsibilities

• Review and cross-check technical designs and as-built documentation against network principles.
• Provide binding technical answers to construction partners regarding design tickets and field deviations.
• Ensure accuracy of network inventory by aligning assets, topology and fiber positions with real-world data.
• Perform as-built acceptance checks for network areas based on optical measurements and layouts.
• Monitor contractor performance through regular reviews and technical steering meetings.
• Develop validation rules and automation tools to streamline the design review process.
• Analyze root causes of installation delays and document findings to improve workflows.

• Review and cross-check technical designs and as-built documentation against established network principles.
• Provide binding technical answers to construction partners regarding design tickets and field deviations.
• Ensure the accuracy of the network inventory database by aligning assets, topology, and fiber positions with real-world data.
• Perform as-built acceptance checks for network areas based on optical measurements and approved layouts.
• Monitor contractor performance through regular reviews and technical steering meetings.
• Develop validation rules and automation tools to streamline the design review process.
• Analyze root causes of installation delays and document findings to improve future engineering workflows.

• You possess a Bachelor or Master in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or a related field.
• You have 5+ years of experience in FTTH or telecom network design, documentation, or field engineering.
• You bring hands-on experience with Cocon or similar Network Inventory systems and GIS tools like QGIS.
• You possess a deep understanding of FTTH outside plant components, including POP, ODF, splitters, splicing plans, and MDU.
• You have knowledge of SQL and basic scripting for data reconcilation and network data analysis.
• You're rigorous, autonomous, and capable of defending technical decisions factually.
• You are fluent in French with a professional level of English.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with Comsof, OTDR interpretation, Python, FME, or Power BI.
• FOA certification and knowledge of municipal permits or civil works.
• Knowledge of Dutch.
