USG Professionals is seeking a Senior Electronics & Systems Engineer for a long-term R&D project in Mol, Belgium. You will contribute to the development, integration and commissioning of electronics for a new superconducting linear accelerator.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in electronics, systems engineering, embedded systems or RF, and thrives in complex, cross-disciplinary environments where different subsystems must work together as one reliable solution.

Qualifications

• Senior Electronics & Systems Engineer with background in electronics, systems engineering or embedded/RF or electrical engineering.
• Experience in complex R&D environments is preferred.
• Strong focus on integration of multiple electronic subsystems.

Responsabilités

• Supporting the development, integration and commissioning of electronic systems.
• Contributing to Low-Level RF (LLRF) and beam diagnostics systems.
• Translating technical needs into clear requirements, specifications and acceptance criteria.
• Supporting system architecture and the definition of complex technical systems.
• Supporting integration and verification of subsystems.
• Developing and testing simulation models and prototypes to validate technical concepts.
• Contributing to embedded electronics, FPGA and firmware development and verification.
• Supporting test facilities setup, installation, commissioning and verification.
• Maintaining technical documentation throughout the lifecycle of the systems.
• Collaborating with internal teams, international partners and external suppliers.
• Supporting technical procurement processes and supplier follow-up.

Do you enjoy working on complex technology where different systems have to work together perfectly?

Are you an experienced engineer with a background in electronics, systems engineering, embedded systems, RF or electrical engineering? And would you like to contribute to a unique, long-term R&D project?

For a high-tech R&D project in Mol, Belgium, we are looking for a Senior Electronics & Systems Engineer to support the development, integration and commissioning of electronics for a new superconducting linear accelerator.

You do not necessarily need previous experience with particle accelerators. We are particularly interested in engineers with a strong background in LLRF, systems engineering, embedded electronics or electrical/electronics engineering, combined with experience in complex R&D environments.

Your role

• You will join a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for the electronics supporting the accelerator.
• Your role will be broad: you will work on the development of electronic systems, help integrate different technical subsystems and make sure that these systems work together as one reliable and well-functioning solution.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the engineering, integration and commissioning of electronic systems;
• Contributing to systems related to Low-Level RF (LLRF) and beam diagnostics;
• Translating technical needs into clear requirements, technical specifications and acceptance criteria;
• Supporting system architecture and the definition of complex technical systems;
• Supporting the integration and verification of different subsystems;
• Developing and testing simulation models and prototypes to validate technical concepts;
• Contributing to the development and verification of embedded electronics, FPGA and firmware;
• Supporting the setup and management of dedicated test facilities where different systems are brought together;
• Supporting installation, testing, commissioning and verification activities;
• Maintaining technical documentation throughout the full lifecycle of the systems;
• Working closely with internal teams, international partners and external suppliers;
• Supporting technical procurement processes and supplier follow-up.

In short: you help develop complex electronic systems and make sure that all the different technical pieces work together as one system.
