Senior E&I Engineering Lead — ATEX, SIL & Caneco

Job summary

EarthStream Global in Olen, Belgium, seeks a Lead Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer to manage E&I projects from concept to delivery within large-scale industrial investments. As the technical discipline lead, you will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, interpret electrical diagrams (EPLAN) and Caneco, ensure ATEX compliance, and drive from feasibility to handover.

Travel within Europe and Asia is expected occasionally; the role offers a long-term collaboration and a dynamic project

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a leading E&I role within process industry projects.
• Minimum 7 years of experience as an E&I Engineer in the process industry.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience with ATEX guidelines and applications.
• Ability to interpret electrical diagrams (e.g., in EPLAN) — drawing skills are not required.
• Experience with Caneco for cable calculations and interpretation.
• Proven experience interpreting SIL safety calculations.
• Basic knowledge of hardware and automation (no programming knowledge required).

Responsibilities

• Independently lead the electrical and instrumentation discipline from feasibility through commissioning and handover.
• Make technical decisions regarding materials and applications, considering environmental factors.
• Collaborate closely with internal project teams and external partners.
• Interpret electrical diagrams and Caneco cable calculations and provide solutions.
• Ensure ATEX compliance throughout all project phases.
• Support projects related to process installations and related battery projects.
• Work from transformer level, with focus on low voltage and basic high voltage.
• Prepare technical specifications and tender documents, define and monitor budgets, and track milestones.
• Interpret SIL, PL, and Exi calculations to ensure functional safety.
