Job summary
Euronews Brussels is seeking a Senior Editor to lead the Dutch Edition, overseeing daily news coverage for TV and digital platforms and guiding the team in assigning and approving stories before publication.
You will supervise live broadcasts, breaking news, and push notifications, shape rundowns, ensure accuracy, and uphold Euronews’ editorial standards across all channels, including front-page editing and SEO.
Qualifications
- Excellent command of Dutch with native or near-native fluency.
- Fluent English, C1 minimum.
- Deep knowledge of Dutch and EU politics, institutions and current affairs.
- Mastery of news writing across formats for international audiences.
- Strong sourcing and fact-checking rigor.
- Digital culture and newsroom tools proficiency.
- Active network within Dutch government and EU institutions.
- Leadership, teamwork and calm under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Build the day's news coverage by selecting topics online and on air.
- Validate the quality and accuracy of TV and digital content.
- Ensure coherence with Euronews values across platforms.
- Oversee Front Page Editing of the language service's website.
- Edit and distribute the rundown, ensuring proper duration.
- Feed the vertical scroll to enrich the channel and digital world.
- Ensure push notifications are sent quickly and accurately.
- Coordinate breaking news using available resources and tools.
- Monitor story performance via audience metrics.
- Write news articles in the assigned language, including weekends.
