Pauwels Consulting is seeking an expert backend developer to support critical infrastructure projects in Brussels. You will design, implement, and document authentication and authorization services, and create sample apps and guides to show how to integrate them with legacy and new systems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in backend development with C#, .NET, and Java.
• Proficient in Vue.js, Blazor, and JavaScript.
• Deep knowledge of OAuth2, OIDC, SSO, and MFA.
• Experience with cloud platforms and container orchestration (Kubernetes/AKS).
• Hands-on with SQL Server, LDAP, REST, JSON, and YAML.
• Knowledge of Git and DevOps methodologies.
• Fluent English; good Dutch and/or French.
• Independent, proactive, analytical.

Our client, a leading organization in the energy sector, is looking for an expert developer to support critical infrastructure initiatives. This role focuses on developing and integrating secure authentication and authorization services within a complex digital landscape.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and document software components for user authentication and authorization services.
• Create sample applications and technical guides to demonstrate integration within legacy and new systems.
• Configure and extend off-the-shelf solutions such as access managers, API gateways, and directory services.
• Promote continuous integration and deployment through release automation and configuration management.
• Collaborate with technical stakeholders to translate requirements into robust security solutions.
• Take ownership of backlog items and participate actively in squad team sprints.

Requirements

• 8+ years in backend development with C#, .NET, and Java.
• Professional experience with Vue.js, Blazor, and JavaScript.
• Deep knowledge of security standards including OAuth2, OIDC, SSO, and MFA.
• Practical experience with cloud platforms and container orchestration using Kubernetes and AKS.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server, LDAP, REST, JSON, and YAML.
• Knowledge of Git and DevOps methodologies.
• Proactive, analytical, and able to work independently.
• You are fluent in English with a good level of Dutch and/or French.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with Typescript, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Knowledge of React or SAML2.
• Familiarity with identity platforms such as Keycloak, ADFS, Ping, Okta, or EntraID.
• Understanding of Micro-services architecture and PKI.
