Btech (Barcelona Technical Center SL) is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join an automotive R&D project. You will analyze real-world vehicle and driving data, connect telemetry with surveys and personas, and develop interpretable features for vehicle development and customer intelligence.

Ideal candidates have 4–8 years in Data Science, strong Python, statistics and ML knowledge, and are ready to relocate to Brussels for an on-site, multicultural environment with cross-functional engineering

• Strong Python skills for data analysis and prototyping.
• Solid knowledge of statistics, ML, feature engineering and model validation.
• Ability to work independently with complex real-world datasets.

• Willing to relocate to Brussels and work on-site.

Responsabilités

• Analyse vehicle, driving and unstructured data to identify patterns.

We are Btech (Barcelona Technical Center SL), a Spanish engineering company specialising in vehicle component design and calculation. Headquartered in Martorell, near Barcelona, we work with leading clients in the automotive, railway, aerospace, chemical and energy sectors.

We are currently looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join an automotive R&D project for one of our OEM clients.

Your mission

You will analyse real-world vehicle and driving data, connecting telemetry with customer surveys, personas and behavioural indicators. Your work will help transform complex engineering data into practical, explainable insights for vehicle development and customer intelligence.

Main responsibilities

• Analyse vehicle, driving and unstructured data —such as customer survey verbatims— to identify meaningful driving patterns and behaviours.
• Develop interpretable features and behavioural dimensions from vehicle telemetry and driving data.
• Link real-world vehicle data with surveys, customer personas and behavioural indicators.
• Explore, assess and quickly test relevant analytical methods through Proofs of Concept on real-world data.
• Compare and apply statistical and machine learning approaches, including clustering, dimensionality reduction, factor analysis, correlation analysis and supervised/unsupervised models.
• Validate models and analytical results, assessing robustness, reliability, assumptions and limitations.
• Work closely with vehicle engineering teams to ensure findings are technically meaningful and aligned with real vehicle behaviour.
• Communicate insights, conclusions and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of analytical methodologies, tools and data-driven decision‑making within the project.

The profile we are looking for

• Around 4-8 years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning or Advanced Analytics.
• Strong Python skills for data analysis, modelling and prototyping.
• Solid knowledge of statistics, machine learning, feature engineering and model validation.
• Ability to work independently with complex, real-world datasets.
• Strong communication skills and an engineering-oriented mindset.
• Professional level of English.
• Availability to relocate to Brussels and work on‑site in a multicultural and international environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in automotive, mobility, telemetry, IoT or industrial data.
• Experience with customer analytics, surveys, personas, UX or behavioural data.
• Knowledge of SQL, Snowflake, Databricks or similar platforms.
• Experience with NLP, LLMs or AI‑assisted analytics.
