Sia in Belgium is recruiting Senior Consultants specializing in Data Engineering solutions. You will lead client engagements, co-design data engineering solutions with clients, manage stakeholders, and ensure impactful project delivery from strategy through execution.

The role requires Google Cloud experience, data architecture, pipelines, distributed systems, data modeling, data integration, and DataOps. Fluency in English; Dutch or French required.

Qualifications

• Completed WO Master’s degree in a relevant technical field (Data Science, Econometrics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, (Energy) Engineering).
• 3–6 years of relevant professional experience (or equivalent academic research).
• Strong analytical mindset with systematic problem‑solving abilities.
• Fluency in English; Dutch or French fluency is a must.

Responsabilités

• Google Cloud (GCP): Hands‑on experience with Google Cloud services and Infrastructure as Code; apply to data engineering/workloads.
• Data Architecture & Pipeline Design: Build robust data pipelines and architectures for large data volumes.
• Cloud & Distributed Systems: Design data solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and frameworks (Spark, Kafka).
• Database Design & Data Modeling: Develop logical/physical models for relational, NoSQL, time‑series, and graph data.
• Data Integration & Loading Patterns: Implement batch, streaming, and real‑time data integration; handle structured to unstructured data.
• CI/CD & DataOps: Enable CI/CD for data services with DevOps tooling for reliability and automation.

Job Description

To support our growth, we are recruiting Senior Consultants specializing in Data Engineering solutions. You will lead client engagements, co-design data engineering solutions through close collaboration with clients, manage stakeholders, and ensure impactful project delivery from strategy through execution.

Responsibilities

• Google Cloud (GCP): Hands‑on experience with Google Cloud computing, data, and AI/ML services, including cloud architecture, compute and storage, IAM, cost optimization, and Infrastructure as Code. Experience applying GCP to data engineering and/or machine learning workloads is required.
• Data Architecture & Pipeline Design: Building robust, scalable data pipelines and architectures to enable efficient ingestion, processing, and delivery of large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
• Cloud & Distributed Systems: Designing and implementing data solutions leveraging modern cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Kafka).
• Database Design & Data Modeling: Developing logical and physical data models and optimizing database solutions for various data types and workloads, including relational, NoSQL, time‑series, and graph databases.
• Data Integration & Loading Patterns: Implementing best practices for batch, streaming, and real‑time data integration, adapting to structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources.
• CI/CD & DataOps Practices: Enabling continuous integration and deployment of data services and infrastructure, using modern DevOps tooling to ensure reliability, versioning, and automation in data workflows.

Within Sia itself you will

• Develop and enhance our Data Engineering offerings through internal training sessions, working groups, and internal/external publications.
• Represent Sia at professional events, contributing actively to thought leadership initiatives (articles, white papers, webinars).
• Drive business development by crafting compelling proposals, identifying new collaboration opportunities, and fostering long‑term client relationships.
• Manage client engagements, serving as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert to middle and senior‑level management.
• Supervise and mentor junior to medior consultants, guiding their professional growth, reviewing deliverables, and facilitating the development of technical and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Completed WO Master’s degree in Data Science, Econometrics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, (Energy) Engineering, or a related technical field involving substantial programming.
• The specific stack that you will work with will depend on the client but, as an indication, we commonly work with Databricks, Snowflake and Azure.
• 3-6 years of relevant professional experience (or equivalent academic research).
• Strong analytical mindset with systematic problem‑solving abilities.
• You have a strong interest in data and AI‑related topics, the ability to quickly build expertise in these areas, and you’re excited about helping our clients seize the opportunities they offer.
• A fast learner who demonstrates strong communication skills, adaptability, and entrepreneurial drive.
• Fluency in English, with excellent communication and presentation abilities. Dutch or French fluency is a must.
• Proven interest in Data Engineering, and relevant sectors such as Energy and Finance.
