Talencia Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst for a banking client in Brussels. You will join a focused data team and transform complex datasets into actionable business insights.

This is a highly technical role with a strong emphasis on SQL development, data extraction and data modelling in a banking environment. Hybrid/remote work is available, with start ASAP and contract for 6 months with possible extension.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of experience in data analysis or a similar data-focused role.
• Mandatory experience in the banking sector.
• Expert-level SQL skills; hands-on development required.
• Experience with data modelling in relational and dimensional models.
• Familiarity with Star Schema and Snowflake schemas.
• Ability to work with large datasets and communicate findings clearly.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Talencia is looking for an experienced Senior Data Analyst for one of its banking clients in Brussels.

Location: Brussels

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 6 months + extension, potentially until end of 2027

Working Mode: Hybrid / partially remote

Languages: English + French or Dutch

About the Role

As a Senior Data Analyst, you will join a banking data team and play a key role in transforming complex datasets into reliable business insights.

This is a strongly technical Data Analyst position, with a major focus on SQL development, data extraction and database modelling. The successful candidate will be comfortable working hands-on with large datasets and designing robust data models in a banking environment.

Key Responsibilities

• SQL Development: Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, transform, clean and analyze large volumes of financial and customer data.
• Data Modelling: Design, develop and maintain relational and dimensional data models adapted to banking requirements.
• Database Analysis: Analyze existing database structures, identify data relationships and ensure data quality and consistency.
• Data Analysis: Investigate complex datasets and translate them into meaningful business insights.
• Business Intelligence: Translate business requirements into relevant analyses, reports and dashboards for both management and operational teams.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and communicate findings clearly.
• Data Storytelling: Present complex data and analytical results in a clear and accessible way to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Profile

• 5–7+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar data-focused role.
• Mandatory experience in the banking sector.
• Excellent / expert-level SQL skills – mandatory. This is a hands-on role involving real SQL development, not only data analysis.
• Strong experience with relational and dimensional data modelling.
• Good understanding of Star Schema and Snowflake Schema concepts.
• Experience working with large and complex datasets.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Outgoing, dynamic and comfortable interacting with different stakeholders.
• Able to explain complex technical and data concepts to non-technical audiences.
