Job summary

Decathlon Belgium NV in Brussels (Evere) is seeking a data analyst to translate business needs into actionable analytics; you will use SQL, Python, and BI tools to turn data into decision-making levers for business teams.

You will explore and clean data, build reusable metrics, test hypotheses with models, and present findings through dashboards to non-technical colleagues; collaboration and proactive thinking are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, informatics, or statistics with specialisation in data engineering, big data or data science.
• 3+ years hands-on experience as a data analyst.
• Proficient in SQL and Python; knowledge of R is a plus.
• Ability to create high-impact dashboards with Tableau, Looker Studio, or Power BI.
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and data tooling like dbt.
• Familiarity with dbt, DataBricks, Gen AI, A/B testing; product mindset.

Mission

• Translation of business needs: you listen to team requests, challenge assumptions, and define precise analytical questions.
• Exploration and cleaning data: you identify the best internal and external data sources, check their quality, and prepare data using SQL, Python, or dbt.
• Building concrete solutions: you create reusable metrics, design prototypes, and test your hypotheses with statistical models.
• Explaining your analysis: you explain complex results using visual storytelling on Tableau or other BI tools to convince non-technical colleagues.
• Working as a team: you document your methods on Git, share best practices with your peers, and care for your own well-being as much as your teammates.

Moreover,

• You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, informatics, or statistics with a specialization in data engineering, big data, or data science and you bring at least 3 years of hands‑on experience in a data analyst role.
• You master data languages: you navigate SQL and Python and R with ease.
• You bring insights to life with high-impact dashboards using Tableau, Looker Studio, or Power BI.
• You bring hands‑on experience with cloud environments like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• A real plus: You are familiar with dbt, DataBricks, have knowledge on Gen AI, on A/B testing strategies and logic and you are product builder (app, assistant)
• You are fluent in French with a solid level in English for our international context (basic Dutch is a plus).
