Job summary

EY in Belgium is seeking experienced Actuaries (Senior Consultant or Manager) with life insurance expertise to meet growing client demand. The role sits in our market-leading Actuarial Team and offers exposure to pricing, valuation, IFRS17 and SCR modelling within international teams.

You will design products, value liabilities with Prophet and Python, refine IFRS17 processes, and contribute to client engagements and due diligences.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in actuarial sciences or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of life actuarial experience in insurance or consultancy.
• Solid knowledge in life product development and pricing, life reserving techniques, risk management, Solvency II or IFRS17.
• Internal model experience is a plus.
• Strong teamwork with autonomy; global mindset and English fluency; Dutch or French is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Designing future-proof life insurance products, including pricing strategies and methodologies.
• Valuation of life insurance liabilities using actuarial software (Prophet, Python, etc.).
• Assist clients with IFRS17 processes and reporting insights.
• Developing and Optimising internal models to compute the SCR.
• Support Transactions team on actuarial aspects during due diligences on life portfolios.

The Opportunity

Our market-leading Actuarial Team is looking for experienced Actuaries (Senior Consultant (2+ years of experience) or Manager (5+ years of experience level) with life insurance experience to address the growing demand of insurance companies.

Key Responsibilities

• Designing future-proof life insurance products, including the development of pricing strategies and methodologies
• Performing valuation of life insurance liabilities, using a wide range of actuarial software (e.g. Prophet, Python, etc.)
• Assisting insurance companies in further optimizing their IFRS17 processes and enhancing their reporting to provide valuable insights to investors and stakeholders
• Developing and optimising internal models to compute the SCR
• Providing support to our Transactions team on actuarial aspects during due-diligences on life portfolio’s

Skills And Attributes For Success

• A master’s degree in actuarial sciences
• Minimum of 2 years of experience, working in a life actuarial-oriented position within an insurance company or a consultancy firm
• A solid knowledge in at least 2 of the following topics: life product development and pricing, life reserving techniques, risk management, Solvency II or IFRS17.
• Internal model experience is a plus
• A strong team spirit, balanced by a healthy sense of autonomy
• Excellent communication skills, with fluency in Dutch and/or French and proficient level of business English
• A global mindset and the drive to work in international teams
