EY Belgium, Diegem, is expanding its Consulting division within the Technology & Innovation practice. We seek Business Analysts / Functional Analysts with 1–6 years in financial services to drive transformation, define requirements, and shape IT-enabled business change.

You will work on AS-IS/TO-BE analyses, requirements elicitation, and collaboration between business and IT teams in agile environments. Growth, training, and client-facing opportunities are integral to this role at EY.

Qualifications

• 1–6 years of professional experience in consulting and/or financial services
• Master's degree in a relevant field
• Experience analyzing business processes and gathering requirements
• Knowledge of BPMN/UML and agile tools (Jira/Confluence)
• Fluent in Dutch and/or French with strong business English

Our consultants work on the most relevant topics in the industry, such as: streamlining and digitalizing banking or insurance processes, implementing software packages for Core Banking, Risk Management or Insurance, developing solutions for real-time payments, optimizing regulatory reporting processes, and conducting IT and business assessments.

We are capable, passionate professionals who are excited about growing their careers by working on projects critical to the financial services sector, through roles such as Project Manager, Business Analyst, Functional Analyst, Scrum Master, Product Owner, Technical Lead, etc.

We are currently looking to reinforce our team with Business Analysts / Functional Analysts who are ready to harness their expertise in business and functional analysis, knowledge of the financial industry, and agile mindset to make a transformative impact on our clients' businesses. We hire at senior consultant and manager levels.

As a Business Analyst / Functional Analyst, you will play a critical role in shaping our consulting services within the financial services sector. With at least 1 to 6 years of relevant experience and a background in financial services, you’ll be an invaluable part of the teams and projects that redefine what's possible in financial services transformation.

This role is ideal for a driven individual with a strong ambition to grow their functional expertise and leadership skills.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Analyzing the AS-IS situation: Gain a clear understanding of the current business processes and identify gaps in alignment with the target architecture and business objectives
• Eliciting requirements: Conduct workshops with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and validate functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring solutions meet business objectives and user needs
• Design support: Assist in defining functional specifications and designing TO-BE processes using tools like BPMN or UML to document workflows and functional models
• Facilitating collaboration: Act as a bridge between business and IT teams to align on requirements and ensure shared understanding
• Testing and validation: Support testing phases by preparing use cases, test scenarios, and validating that delivered solutions align with business requirements
• Change management support: Assist with user training and adoption strategies to ensure smooth deployment of new solutions
• Continuous learning: Stay up to date on industry trends, business transformation practices, and functional analysis methodologies

Skills And Attributes For Success

• Educational background: Hold a Master's degree in a relevant field (business or civil engineering, computer science, economics, information system management, etc.)
• Professional experience: Demonstrate 1 to 6 years of professional experience in consulting and/or the financial services sector, showcasing a track record as a business analyst, functional analyst, or related roles
• Key expertise:
  • Experience in analyzing business processes, gathering and documenting requirements, and working with functional teams
  • Understanding of project lifecycles, including working in Agile teams
  • Knowledge of business process modeling tools (e.g., BPMN, UML) and agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)
• Other skills:
  • Strong analytical skills, conceptual thinking, and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving
  • Outstanding stakeholder management and ability to build relationships through clear communication
  • Certifications such as Agile (Scrum, Product Owner), or business analysis certifications (CBAP, PMI-PBA) are a plus
• Language proficiency: Fluent in either or both Dutch and French, complemented with a strong command of business English
