Speechify is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to lead major features in our Android app as we grow our user base across platforms. You will work closely with design and product to ship high-quality experiences that delight millions of learners.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of software engineering experience.
• Familiarity with Android components and architecture.
• Experience building or contributing to at least one Android app.
• Strong product design intuition and user empathy.
• Drive to push the boundaries of Android UI/UX.
• Understanding of testing importance and test automation.
• Self-motivated and proactive in improving code and app quality.
• Proven experience with Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines and Kotlin Flow.
• Expertise with Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture and Jetpack tools.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Own major features and collaborate with design to deliver high-quality experiences.
• Shape the direction of the Android team and roadmap.
• Maintain and improve reliability metrics for key features.
• Participate in cross-team discussions (Product, Design, Engineering).
• Review pull requests and support teammates.
• Handle critical issues and unexpected challenges.
• Own feature releases and provide nightly builds for QA.
