Job summary

TechWolf in Belgium is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to bridge research and productization, turning prototypes into scalable AI services deployed in production.

You will design and deploy AI systems with PyTorch/Transformers, build GenAI features, and collaborate with product and other engineers to deliver high-impact capabilities.

You’ll mentor teammates, emphasize clean code, testing, and AI ethics, and work from our Ghent office at least three days a week.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of relevant experience shipping AI systems into production.
• End-to-end AI system development and delivery in production.
• Proficient in Python and frameworks like PyTorch and Transformers; familiarity with Agent SDKs.
• Solid understanding of MLOps best practices.
• Software deployment skills: API design, testing and observability.
• Able to articulate complex trade-offs and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Passionate about fair, transparent and impactful AI; eager to learn continuously.
• Based in Belgium and willing to work from Ghent office at least three days per week.

Responsibilities

• Architect, train, and optimize AI models using frameworks like Transformers and PyTorch, and leverage LLMs to solve real-world problems through AWS Bedrock.
• Build agentic features from prototype to production using the latest GenAI stack.
• Design and maintain infrastructure for offline evaluation, and online observability and A/B testing.
• Implement enterprise-ready microservices (FastAPI, Kubernetes) with CI/CD, observability (Prometheus, Sentry), and cost optimization in AWS environments.
• Collaborate with Product and other engineering teams to identify high-leverage AI features.
• Mentor teammates through code reviews, pairing sessions, and knowledge sharing; champion clean code, testing, security, and AI ethics standards.
