Job summary

efficy Group is seeking a Senior Accountant to own statutory accounting and month-end closing for entities in Belgium, France, Denmark, Spain, Sweden and the Netherlands. You will act as the technical go-to for colleagues and external accounting offices, reporting to the Head of Finance within an international F&A team.

You’ll join a European SaaS group, contributing to group standards and accounting procedures while coordinating an expanding team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a corporate accountant, ideally in an international environment or at a Big 4 firm
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, business management or finance
• Strong knowledge of Belgian GAAP, with analytical skills and precision
• Experience with accounting tools, ideally Odoo
• Clear communicator who can manage stakeholders at all levels
• Proactive and organized, able to work independently in a remote team
• Interest in IFRS and consolidation is a plus
• Full professional fluency in English; French or Dutch beneficial

Responsibilities

• Statutory accounting: run daily accounting and month-end closing for assigned entities under local GAAP
• Financial statements: prepare and maintain financial statements under Belgian GAAP and support audits
• VAT and tax: prepare Belgian and foreign VAT returns (monthly/quarterly) and other filings with external accountants
• External accounting offices: be the day-to-day contact and ensure deadlines are met
• Technical reference: review colleagues’ entries and assist with accounting questions
• Group standards: contribute to accounting manuals and update procedures
• Team coordination: increase coordination duties over time
