Description du poste

Safety Specialist / Prevention Advisor BeLux

Millions of people use elevators, escalators and automatic building doors every day. At KONE, we are committed to making people’s journeys safe, convenient and reliable.

Safety is at the heart of the way we work. It is part of our culture, our daily operations and our responsibility towards our employees, subcontractors, partners and customers. Our goal is clear: everyone goes home safe, every day.

To strengthen our Safety team in Belgium and Luxembourg, we are looking for a Safety Specialist / Prevention Advisor who combines technical safety knowledge with a strong field presence, excellent communication skills and a hands‑on mindset.

This is not a purely office‑based or administrative safety role. We are looking for someone who enjoys being close to the business, visiting branches and worksites, engaging with technicians, supervisors and managers, and helping teams turn safety principles into concrete daily practices.

What will you do?

As Safety Specialist / Prevention Advisor BeLux, you will play a key role in supporting and improving safety performance across the organization.

You will act as a trusted advisor to the business on all safety‑related matters, while also taking an active role in the field. You will work closely with operational teams, branch managers, supervisors, technicians, social partners and external stakeholders to ensure that safety is understood, applied and continuously improved.

  • Act as Prevention Advisor for KONE Belgium and Luxembourg and support the organization in meeting legal safety requirements.
  • Provide practical advice and guidance to managers, supervisors and employees on safety, wellbeing and prevention topics.
  • Conduct risk analyses, workplace visits and safety observations, translating findings into clear recommendations and concrete follow‑up actions.
  • Support the investigation and follow‑up of accidents, incidents and near misses, including corrective and preventive actions.
  • Prepare, coordinate and follow up safety audits, including VCA‑related audits and other internal or external audits.
  • Help operational teams prepare for audits by aligning with supervisors, branch managers and field teams in advance.
  • Coordinate and animate safety initiatives, toolbox meetings, safety campaigns and awareness actions.
  • Monitor and support the implementation of safety processes, procedures and guidelines.
  • Follow up legal changes and developments in safety and prevention, initiating actions where needed.
  • Participate in CPBW/CPPT‑related activities and contribute to constructive dialogue with social partners.
  • Support the coordination of safety‑related inspections and checks, including work equipment and technical material.
  • Work closely with the FBL Safety/Quality/Environment organization and participate in regular exchanges with the wider regional team.
  • Contribute, when needed, to quality‑related coordination topics, especially around audits and local follow‑up, while keeping safety as the main focus of the role.
What makes this role specific?

At KONE, safety happens in the field. Our teams work across different branches, customer sites and project environments. This means the role requires someone who is visible, approachable and willing to go where the work happens.

You will need to build credibility with different audiences: technicians, team leaders, managers, external auditors, social partners and regional colleagues. You should be able to adapt your communication style, listen actively, remain neutral in sensitive situations and help people move forward in a constructive way.

This role also requires strong ownership. You will receive questions from different parts of the organization and will need to assess priorities, investigate situations, coordinate stakeholders and follow through until actions are completed.

Who are we looking for?

We are open to different profiles, as long as the motivation, potential and mindset are right.

You may already be an experienced Prevention Advisor level 1. Alternatively, you may be a Prevention Advisor level 2 or a bachelor/master graduate with a strong interest in safety and the willingness to obtain the Prevention Advisor level 1 certification. In that case, KONE can support the training path.

  • Has a strong interest in safety, prevention and wellbeing at work.
  • Holds a Prevention Advisor level 1 certification, or is willing and eligible to obtain it.
  • Has at least a bachelor’s degree if the level 1 certification still needs to be obtained.
  • Brings relevant experience in safety, prevention, operations, field service, construction, technical environments or similar.
  • Is comfortable working in the field and regularly visiting sites, branches and operational teams.
  • Communicates clearly and confidently with different stakeholders, from technicians to senior management.
  • Is able to listen actively, analyse situations objectively and provide practical advice.
  • Is structured, accurate and strong in follow‑up.
  • Has the ability to coordinate audits, inspections, meetings and action plans.
  • Is proactive, hands‑on and not afraid to challenge, remind and repeat when needed.
  • Can remain neutral, discreet and trustworthy in sensitive situations.
  • Is fluent in French and Dutch. English is also important in our international environment.
  • Has knowledge of VCA, ISO 45001, ISO 9001 or quality/safety audit processes. This is a strong asset.
  • Has knowledge of the construction, technical service or field operations environment. This is a plus.
Your mindset
  • Field‑oriented and visible.
  • People‑focused and approachable.
  • Structured and reliable.
  • Strong in coordination and follow‑up.
  • Able to influence without relying only on formal authority.
  • Curious, analytical and solution‑oriented.
  • Resilient and able to repeat key messages when needed.
  • Motivated to grow into a long‑term safety role within KONE.
Practical information

The position is based in Brussels, with regular travel to KONE branches and sites across Belgium and Luxembourg. Occasional travel to France may be required for regional safety meetings or collaboration with the wider FBL team.

You will work closely with the local Belgian organization and with the wider FBL Safety/Quality/Environment network.

What we offer

At KONE, you will join an international company where safety is a true priority and where your work has a direct impact on people’s daily working environment.

  • A meaningful role with strong visibility across the organization.
  • The opportunity to contribute to a positive safety culture.
  • A varied position combining field visits, analysis, coordination, stakeholder management and continuous improvement.
  • Collaboration with local and regional safety experts.
  • Support in further developing your prevention and safety expertise.
  • A company culture where safety, trust and continuous improvement are central.
