Puratos is seeking a Safety & Belgium Fire Protection Engineer to join the Health, Safety & Environment team in Groot-Bijgaarden. You will blend hands-on safety expertise with fire protection excellence for Belgian operations.

You will lead safety programmes, optimize fire protection systems and participate in governance for CAPEX projects, while mentoring staff and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent technical/scientific qualification.
• Certified Prevention Advisor Level 2.
• 3–5 years of Health & Safety experience, preferably in manufacturing/industrial environments.
• Experience with fire protection or process safety is valued.
• Fluent in Dutch, good French and English; strong stakeholder engagement.

Responsabilités

• Lead and continuously improve safety and prevention programmes at Groot-Bijgaarden.
• Manage and optimize fire protection systems (detection, sprinklers, extinguishing, gas detection).
• Act as regional BeOps Fire Protection Expert across Belgian sites.
• Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and develop preventive actions.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness, response plans, drills with authorities and fire brigades.
• Deliver safety training and foster a proactive safety culture.
