Médiane Benelux is seeking a Rust Developer to shape the next generation of railway software in Belgium. You will work on a mission-critical traffic management platform, evolving a real-time system that operates 24/7, with emphasis on reliability, safety and performance.

You will participate from design to deployment, focusing on robustness and long-term maintainability, and support the transition from C to Rust while mentoring teammates.

Qualifications

• Advanced expertise in Rust development.
• Solid background in C.
• Working knowledge of Linux environments (development/debug).
• Proficient in English plus Dutch or French.
• Strong attention to safety-critical systems.
• Nice to have: Scripting with Python and/or Bash; exposure to Java; ability to navigate between high-level architecture and low-level implementation.

Responsabilités

• Develop new features aligned with the product roadmap for mission-critical railway software.
• Participate in the design and implementation of core software modules.
• Produce clear technical documentation to support long-term maintainability.
• Support the transition from C to Rust and mentor team members.
• Contribute to tool selection and engineering practices.
• Contribute to safety and security activities, including TRA and FMEA.
• Maintain high reliability and precise coding for railway traffic systems.
