Westinghouse is seeking a Technician / Skilled Worker to support the preparation, maintenance, testing, and operation of specialized mechanical and electromechanical equipment used during nuclear power plant outages worldwide.

You will work closely with engineering and project teams to repair, commission, test, and deploy advanced remote-controlled systems in demanding nuclear environments, contributing to safe and efficient field operations across the globe.

Technician / Skilled Worker

Location: Nivelles, BE

About the Role

As a Technician / Skilled Worker, you will support the preparation, maintenance, testing, and operation of specialized mechanical and electromechanical equipment used during nuclear power plant outages worldwide.

Working closely with engineering and project teams, you will contribute to the repair, commissioning, testing, and field deployment of advanced technologies, including remote-controlled equipment used in demanding nuclear environments.

This role offers the opportunity to develop strong technical expertise while supporting critical maintenance activities at nuclear facilities across the globe.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance & Repair

• Perform maintenance and repair activities on specialized equipment, including:
  • Milling systems
  • Drilling equipment
  • Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) systems
  • Bolting systems
  • Other remotely operated tools and equipment
• Diagnose equipment issues and perform corrective maintenance.
• Ensure equipment remains operational, reliable, and compliant with quality standards.

Testing & Commissioning

• Participate in the commissioning and testing of newly developed equipment.
• Support Product Engineers and Development Engineers during testing activities.
• Contribute to parameter development, validation, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Assist in qualification and acceptance testing processes.

Assembly & Manufacturing

• Manufacture, modify, and assemble mechanical and electrical components.
• Assemble tooling, equipment, and associated systems.
• Verify equipment functionality prior to deployment.

Software & Controls Support

• Install and configure software on computers, control units, and industrial systems.
• Support network configuration and communication setup for equipment operation.
• Assist with troubleshooting software and hardware interfaces.

Field Operations

• Operate specialized equipment during nuclear power plant outages worldwide.
• Support on-site execution activities while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and operational requirements.
• Follow procedures and customer requirements during field interventions.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams across multiple countries.
• Provide field feedback to support product improvements and technology development.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned activities.

Accountabilities

• Maintaining and repairing specialized equipment to support outage activities.
• Ensuring equipment is properly assembled, tested, and ready for deployment.
• Supporting safe and efficient field operations.
• Providing technical feedback to improve products and processes.
• Following established procedures and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
