Paynovate, a Belgium-based fintech and e-money institution, is seeking a Risk Officer to join the Risk team. You will report to the Head of Risk and help identify, assess and monitor operational risks across Paynovate, with a focus on Third-Party Risk Management and RCSA.

You will collaborate with Operations, Finance, IT and Security to implement the Enterprise Risk Management framework and strengthen controls across the organization.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in Risk, Operational Risk, Internal Control or a similar area within financial services.
• Good understanding of risk and internal control principles and ability to analyse end-to-end processes.

Responsabilités

• Support the implementation and review of RCSA across Paynovate, working with business teams to understand processes and identify/assess operational risks.
• Assess inherent and residual risks, challenge control design, and support risk responses and remediation actions.
• Contribute to Third-Party Risk Management and Outsourcing in line with EBA and DORA requirements.
• Perform third-party risk activities including criticality assessments, due diligence, monitoring and exit strategies.
• Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Product, Fraud/Financial Crime and IT/Security to continuously improve Paynovate's ERM framework.

Paynovate is a Belgium-based fintech and regulated e-money institution with more than 80 employees. We provide payment solutions across Acquiring, Issuing and Payment Accounts.

As we continue to grow, we are strengthening our Enterprise Risk Management framework and are looking for a Risk Officer to join our Risk team.

This is an opportunity to work across a broad range of operational risk topics and contribute directly to the further development of our Risk framework

YOUR MISSION

As a Risk Officer, you will join our second line of defence and work closely with our Head of Risk to identify, assess and monitor operational risks across Paynovate.

Your role will have two main areas of focus: Third-Party Risk Management / Outsourcing and Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSA).

You will work with different teams to understand their processes, identify and assess risks, and challenge whether the right controls are in place and effective.

You will contribute to the implementation and continuous improvement of our Enterprise Risk Management framework, while gaining broad exposure across Paynovate's activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the implementation and review of Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSA) across Paynovate, working with business teams to understand their processes and identify and assess operational risks
• Assess inherent and residual risks, challenge the design and effectiveness of controls, and support the definition and follow-up of risk responses and remediation actions
• Contribute to Third-Party Risk Management and Outsourcing, including sub-outsourcing, in line with relevant EBA and DORA requirements.
• Perform third-party risk activities including criticality assessments, due diligence, monitoring and exit strategies, and assess the impact of third-party dependencies or service failures
• Work across the organisation with teams such as Operations, Finance, Product, Fraud/Financial Crime and IT/Security, while contributing to the continuous improvement of Paynovate's Enterprise Risk Management framework

We seek someone who:

• Has at least 3 years of relevant experience in Risk, Operational Risk, Internal Control, Third-Party Risk or a similar area within financial services
• Has a good understanding of risk and internal control principles and can analyse an end-to-end process, identify what could go wrong and assess how the risks are controlled
• Has a practical and analytical mindset, with good Excel skills including pivot tables, reconciliations and formulas/data analysis
• Is comfortable using tools to map and document processes and flows and has a very good level of professional English
• Is curious, structured and organised: you ask questions, dig deeper when something is unclear and can challenge stakeholders constructively while building effective working relationships
