Tether is seeking an AI model team member to drive innovation in training and deploying vision-language models. You will oversee data curation, pipeline design, and optimization to deliver practical, scalable systems.

Qualifications

• MS/PhD preferred in CS/ML or related field.
• Experience with multimodal post-training workflows including supervised fine-tuning, knowledge distillation, and RLHF.
• Proficiency in parameter-efficient fine-tuning and distributed training frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to build and improve vision-language models with measurable benchmarks.
• Proven open-source contributions on GitHub or HuggingFace.
• Publications at top AI conferences (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, ECCV).

Responsibilities

• Conduct end-to-end research and engineering on vision-language models, including training, evaluation, and optimization across the full lifecycle.
• Design and implement post-training pipelines: supervised fine-tuning, distillation, RLHF.
• Develop and maintain multimodal datasets with curation, filtering, and balancing.
• Drive model efficiency for resource-constrained environments using compression and optimization.
• Develop evaluation frameworks and benchmarks for model performance and robustness.
• Build and scale training workflows across distributed GPU infrastructure.
• Contribute to and leverage open-source ecosystems to accelerate development.
• Stay current with latest multimodal research and publish findings where applicable.
