Job summary

TotalEnergies in Liège seeks a Master’s graduate to join the Short-Term desk, balancing Belgium’s power portfolio and optimizing real-time assets such as BESS, CCGT, CHPs and hydro plants.

The role involves collaborating with Day-ahead and Intraday teams and acting as the interface with TSOs, traders and other energy players in a high-volatility environment. Fluency in French and English is required; Dutch is a plus.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a quantitative discipline is required.
• Passion for energy trading and willingness to learn market mechanisms.
• Strong analytical mindset to summarize large amounts of information.
• Fluent in French and English; Dutch is a plus.
• Proficient with Excel and VBA; Python is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Day-ahead and Intraday teams to balance and optimize Belgium power portfolio.
• Operate and optimize flexible assets in real-time (BESS, CCGT, CHPs, hydro).
• Serve as single point of contact with market players including TSO, traders, and data providers.
• Support projects to secure, optimize, or extend Short-Term activities.
