IMEC is seeking an enthusiastic R&D Inspection Engineer to join the Metrology and Inspection group within the Ångstrom Patterning department. You will collaborate with the Advanced patterning program, execute technical work, and contribute to cross-functional teams supporting joint development programs.

You will create and refine recipes on state-of-the-art inspection tools, explore new techniques, and report progress through project reviews, workshops, and journals. Fluent English required.

Qualifications

• PhD in Applied Sciences, Materials Engineering or Electronics, or a master with equivalent industry/R&D experience.
• Proactive, hands-on, and eager to learn.
• Interest or experience in metrology/inspection in a high-tech cleanroom.
• Able to work with multiple partners and customers.
• Flexible and capable of adapting to change or ambiguity.
• Accurate, detail-oriented, with strong English communication and presentation skills.

R&D Inspection Engineer

What you will do

You will be part of the Metrology and Inspection (M&I) group within the Ångstrom Patterning department.

As R&D Inspection Engineer, you will:

• Work in close collaboration with a major internal program (Advanced patterning).
• Be responsible for technical execution of the work defined between you and the program.
• Be part of a cross functional team aiming to support execution of joint development programs in connection with the advanced patterning program.
• Create and develop recipes on a state-of-the-art inspection tool on advanced processes.
• Be creative and explore novel inspection techniques or methodologies.
• Investigate the limits of the techniques you work with through fundamental understanding by literature search, simulations, physical modeling etc...
• Report your work internally and externally (project reviews, workshops, conferences, or journal papers).

Who you are

• You have a PhD in Applied Sciences, Material Engineering or Electronics or a master degree with equivalent number of years of experience in the industry or an R&D institute
• You are proactive, positive, hands-on with willingness to learn.
• You have interest, or experience, in metrology and/or inspection in a high tech cleanroom.
• You are able to work in complex environments with various partners and customers.
• You are flexible and able to deal with change or ambiguity.
• You work accurately and have attention to details.
• You have excellent English communication skills.
• You have excellent presentation skills.
