TotalEnergies is seeking a researcher in Feluy, Belgium to advance chemical recycling for plastics. The role splits ~50/50 between laboratory experiments and data analysis, with emphasis on pyrolysis and process optimization. Strong MS Office skills and experience with Aspen Plus or Pro/II are valued.

Fluency in French and English at C1 level is required. The position is embedded in an R&D team within Refining & Chemicals, offering exposure to industrial feedstocks and data-driven process

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in chemical engineering, process engineering or chemistry.
• Initial academic or professional experience is a plus.
• Experience in refining, petrochemicals or recycling sectors is advantageous.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
• Knowledge of Aspen Plus or Pro/II is a plus.
• French and English at C1 level required.

Responsabilités

• Conduct lab experiments and pilot-scale pyrolysis unit trials.
• Characterize feedstocks and products generated from the processes under study.
• Analyze and interpret experimental results.
• Assess the impact of plastic waste properties on process performance.
• Contribute to the improvement of pretreatment and purification techniques.
• Participate in the optimization of chemical recycling processes.
• Support the structuring, analysis, and valorization of technical data.
• Contribute to the enhancement of data visualization and analysis tools.
