Job summary

Sioen Industries in Bornem, Belgium, is seeking an R&D Engineer to develop and optimize pigment paste formulas for cost- and performance-effectiveness. You will support customers across commercial activities and report to the R&D manager.

You will collaborate with R&D, quality control, production and sales, and occasionally perform on-site tests at customers’ premises to ensure product quality and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• You have a master's degree and knowledge of pigment paste chemistry.
• You have experience developing pigment pastes, e.g., for wallpaper, vinyl, inks for coatings or textiles.
• You are fluent in MS-Office and are communicative, team-oriented, results-focused, proactive and process-driven.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize formulas of pigment pastes for cost and performance.
• You support customers in all phases of commercial activities and report to the R&D manager.
• You work closely with R&D, QA, production, sales and customers.
• You may conduct tests on-site at customer locations.

For our site in Bornem, we are looking for an R&D Engineer. Your main tasks:

• You develop and optimise the formulas of pigment pastes in a cost- and performance-efficient way.
• You support customers in all phases of commercial activities and report regularly to the R&D manager.
• You work closely with the R&D team, quality control, production, the sales team and customers.
• You work from our site in Bornem, occasionally carrying out tests on site at customers' premises.

Profile

• You obtained a master's degree and have knowledge of or affinity with the chemical composition of pigment pastes.
• You have experience in development of pigment pastes, preferably for similar applications such as wallpaper or vinyl or with inks, used in colouring textile coatings, artificial leather, PU foams and silicone coatings.
• Fluent with MS-Office, communicative, team player, results-oriented, proactive and problem-solving.
