Job summary

Michael Page Belgium seeks a seasoned Head of Quality to lead the quality organization across a food manufacturing group in South West Flanders. The role reports to the CEO and collaborates closely with Operations, R&D, and suppliers to safeguard quality and food safety across all products.

You will drive HACCP, traceability, allergen management, audits, certifications (BRC, IFS, RSPO, FDA), and foster a culture of accountability.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Food Science or equivalent with relevant experience.
• 10+ years in quality and food safety within the food industry.
• Proven experience coaching and developing teams.
• Strong quality management systems knowledge with manufacturing process insight.
• Excellent communication in Dutch, French and English.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the quality organization, ensuring priorities, accountability and team performance: 10 FTE (QA, QC & Safety).
• Manage and continuously improve the quality and food safety management system.
• Partner with Operations to identify risks and implement corrective actions on the production floor.
• Oversee HACCP, traceability, allergen management, supplier quality, product specs, complaints and compliance.
• Coordinate audits and maintain certifications (BRC, IFS, RSPO, FDA).
• Build relationships with customers, suppliers, certification bodies and public authorities to promote quality culture.

• Partner closely with Operations to identify risks and implement sustainable corrective actions on the production floor.
• Oversee HACCP, traceability, allergen management, supplier quality, product specifications, complaints, and product compliance.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and maintain certifications including BRC, IFS, RSPO, and FDA standards.
• Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, certification bodies, and public authorities while promoting a culture of shared responsibility for quality and food safety.
• N+1 : Director Quality and R&D / N+2 : CEO

The Successful Applicant

• Master's degree in Food Science, a scientific discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in quality and food safety within the food industry.
• Proven experience managing, coaching, and developing teams.
• Strong expertise in quality management systems combined with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Professional communication skills in Dutch, French, and English, with a pragmatic and people-oriented leadership style.
