Danone in Rotselaar, Belgium, is seeking a Quality & Food Safety Manager Operations to lead QA across production, ensuring safety, compliance, and top quality.

You will manage incidents, CAPAs, HACCP, and audits; lead on-site teams, analyze data, and collaborate with suppliers and other departments to prevent losses.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Food Technology, Bioscience Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in Quality, Food Safety, or Production in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Solid knowledge of HACCP, Quality Management Systems, and relevant food safety regulations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and expertise in root cause analysis.
• Able to analyze data and translate insights into concrete improvement actions.
• Works effectively and communicates confidently with various departments and stakeholders.
• Coaching and inspiring leadership style.
• Hands-on and pragmatic mindset.
• Very good Dutch and good English proficiency.

Responsabilités

• Liaise with suppliers of packaging materials and raw materials.
• Make decisions regarding release, quarantine, or rejection of products.
• Ensure HACCP and Quality & Food Safety standards compliance.
• Maintain audit- and inspection-ready organization.
• Analyze quality data to define priorities and actions with departments.
• Report KPIs and information to stakeholders.
• Support production in reducing quality losses.
• Identify training needs and coach QFS coordinators and shop floor employees.
• Strengthen quality and food safety culture across the organization.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and loss elimination initiatives.
• Serve as key contact for all operational QFS matters.
• Oversee pest control system with external service provider.

About the job

Tasks and responsibilities

• Be responsible for handling production-related incidents, including internal non-conformities and consumer complaints.
• Lead and facilitate root cause analyses and ensure the effective follow-up of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
• Document investigations in the Veeva system.
• Liaise with suppliers of packaging materials and raw materials in the context of investigations and complaints.
• Make decisions regarding the release, quarantine, or rejection of affected products.
• Ensure the implementation and compliance of Quality & Food Safety standards, including HACCP requirements.
• Contribute actively to maintaining a permanent audit- and inspection-ready organization.
• Analyze quality and food safety data, such as complaints, non-conformities, product trends, and quality losses, and use these insights to define priorities and develop action plans together with relevant departments.
• Report KPIs and management information to various stakeholders.
• Support production departments in reducing quality-related losses.
• Identify Quality & Food Safety training needs and coach and train QFS coordinators and shop floor employees.
• Actively contribute to strengthening the quality and food safety culture across the organization.
• Play an active role in continuous improvement and loss elimination initiatives.
• Serve as the key point of contact for all operational Quality & Food Safety matters.
• Be responsible for the pest control system and act as the liaison with the external service provider supporting this program.

About you

• Holds a Master's degree in Food Technology, Bioscience Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Has experience in Quality, Food Safety, or Production within an industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Has a solid knowledge of HACCP, Quality Management Systems, and relevant food safety regulations.
• Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills and expertise in root cause analysis.
• Is able to analyze data and translate insights into concrete improvement actions.
• Works effectively and communicates confidently with various departments and stakeholders.
• Adopts a coaching and inspiring leadership style.
• Feels comfortable in an operational environment where a strong presence on the shop floor is essential.
• Is action-oriented and has a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Has a hands-on and pragmatic mindset.
• Has a very good knowledge of Dutch and a good knowledge of English
