We are currently looking to recruit a full-time Quality Engineer to join our Quality Department.
As a Quality Engineer, you will be supporting the function of the quality department through the duties outlined below together with any other tasks as assigned by the Quality Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage customer complaints through structured problem-solving, supporting cross-functional teams in the timely implementation, closure, and reporting of corrective actions via 8D methodology.
- Maintain QMS documentation by ensuring updated records are accurately uploaded and controlled.
- Use laboratory equipment to investigate nonconformities, including customer-returned samples.
- Review tool approval results and communicate outcomes to the relevant Business Unit.
- Perform metrological confirmation of equipment in accordance with schedules and procedures.
- Review and approve inspection plans and measurement strategies.
- Conduct Measurement System Analysis (MSA) activities as required.
- Review quotation requests to ensure quality requirements, specifications, and customer expectations are understood and addressed.
- Identify product safety and special characteristics from drawings and ensure correct deployment within the organization.
- Support new project implementation and lead Quality-related activities.
- Monitor departmental KPIs and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives where required.
- Promote customer focus and quality awareness throughout the organization.
- Support the selection and implementation of preventive and corrective actions.
- Exercise authority to stop production or shipment, where necessary, to address quality concerns.
- Escalate customer complaints and audit nonconformities to relevant management to prevent further production or shipment of nonconforming products.
- Ensure QMS compliance with IATF 16949, Customer Specific Requirements (CSRs), and applicable updates.
- Verify process effectiveness through internal audits and ensure intended outputs are achieved.
- Report QMS performance and improvement opportunities to management.
- Maintain QMS integrity during planned and implemented changes.
- Plan and conduct system, process, product, and second-party audits in accordance with IATF 16949 and ISO 19011 guidelines.
- Ensure timely closure of audit findings and implementation of corrective actions.
- Drive system improvements based on audit results and performance data.
- Review the effectiveness of the audit programme and recommend improvements where required.
- Monitor implementation of IATF 16949 requirements across all departments.
- Ensure compliance with Environment, Health & Safety requirements and promote safety awareness.
- Participate in risk assessment and risk reduction activities.
- Utilize customer portals (e.g., CAQ, Process Director) to support customer and quality requirements.
- Interpret customer requirements, including technical cleanliness standards, and coordinate implementation with relevant functions.
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Hons.) or equivalent.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Good understanding of statistics and problem-solving methodologies, preferably supported by Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt training.
- Good knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, Customer Specific Requirements (CSRs), core tools, process approach, and risk-based thinking.
- Understanding of audit planning, execution, reporting, and closure of findings.
- Technical understanding of manufacturing processes, product requirements, and applicable testing methods.
- Ability to operate inspection and testing equipment to verify product conformity, as applicable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and build positive relationships with internal and external customers.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, practical, and proactive in approach.
