Context
A client in the public sector is seeking an experienced project leader in Security & Information Security to realize and monitor security projects within the broader NIS2 security program. The goal is to bring the organization to the required NIS2 Essentials compliance level by April 2027.
As an IT project leader, you will ensure the realization of ICT security projects while considering the planning of the security program and the required quality.
Missions
- Manage security initiatives: ensure successful implementation of ICT security projects focusing on planning, budget, quality, and risk management.
- Manage and monitor project realization considering planning, budget, and required quality (detailed planning, regular follow-up on deadlines, budget and quality, reporting on project progress and identified issues, communication between involved parties, risk management).
- Lead the service transition by managing the handover process of delivered security solutions to operational status through the creation of an operational plan, support, processes, and procedures.
- Ensure timely delivery, centralization, and quality control of required evidence and documentation to demonstrate project realization for compliance, audit readiness, and reporting within the security program.
- Organize change management processes, communication plans, and support the development and evolution of delivered projects within the organization.
- Take a motivating, advisory, and facilitating role towards management and business units, working closely with them.
- Provide effective people management by stimulating, coordinating, and motivating involved employees during project realization.
- At least 8 years of project management experience including requirements gathering, planning (WBS, multiple dependencies), and cost, time, and quality management (project KPIs), preferably supported by a certification
- Experience documenting infrastructure solutions designed by architects and analysts and executed by operational staff
- Experience in security project management with an active role as project leader, engineer, or similar in at least three IT security domains such as network security, endpoint security, IAM, Central Logging, DLP, DRP, PIM and PAM, Threat Modelling, DB-anonymization, or secure development
- Certification or demonstrable experience with PRINCE2 or other project management frameworks
- Some experience or certification in NIS2, ISO27001, NIST, or other security frameworks
- Strong technological leadership skills with emphasis on coaching and motivating teams involved in projects
- Excellent communication skills supported by visualization techniques
- Strong organizational and coordinating skills, working pragmatically, structured, and result-oriented
- Ability to follow technically complex security projects, monitor dependencies, and timely identify bottlenecks
- Clear communication with stakeholders at various levels, supporting change through clear agreements, visual reporting, and targeted alignment
- Motivating, advising, and facilitating role towards management, teams, and project teams
- Ability to coordinate and motivate involved employees during project realization
