Vulcain Engineering Group, a Belgium-based engineering consultancy, seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead capacity-increase initiatives in an industrial setting. You will coordinate from engineering to commissioning, liaising with cross-functional teams and external partners, ensuring safety, quality, and production targets.

You have 7–8 years in industrial project engineering or PM, an engineering Master’s, and are fluent in Dutch and English.

  • Requires engineering Master’s degree and 7–8 years in industrial project engineering or project management.
  • Experience with capacity increase, revamping, or industrial projects is strongly preferred.
  • Background in process or food industry environments is an asset.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English.

  • Define project scope, objectives and capacity targets aligned with business needs.
  • Develop and maintain project plan, schedule and budget tracking.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering, production, quality, maintenance) and external partners.
  • Supervise installation, construction, and integration activities on site and coordinate shutdowns.
  • Monitor progress, costs and resource allocation; support commissioning and validation phases.

Description du poste

As a Project Manager, you will contribute to and lead key phases of a capacity increase project within an industrial production environment. You will be responsible for coordinating project activities from engineering to commissioning, ensuring alignment with operational constraints, safety standards, and business objectives.

You will work closely with senior stakeholders while maintaining strong ownership of day-to-day project execution.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
Project Planning & Definition
  • Support the definition of project scope, objectives, and capacity targets aligned with business needs.
  • Develop and maintain the project plan, schedule, and budget tracking.
  • Contribute to feasibility studies and capacity analysis for production line expansion.
Project Execution & Coordination
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering, production, quality, maintenance).
  • Follow up on engineering design, equipment selection, and technical deliverables.
  • Manage day-to-day interactions with suppliers, contractors, and stakeholders.
Implementation & Site Activities
  • Supervise installation, construction, and integration activities on site.
  • Coordinate shutdown periods and ensure minimal disruption to production.
  • Monitor project progress, costs, and resource allocation.
  • Support and partially lead commissioning, validation, and performance testing phases.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to a smooth handover to operations and maintenance teams.
Project Control & Improvement
  • Identify risks and support the implementation of mitigation plans.
  • Report on project progress and key milestones.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives post-project completion.
ABOUT YOU:
  • Engineering degree (Master's level or equivalent).
  • 7–8 years of experience in industrial project engineering or project management.
  • Experience in capacity increase, revamping, or industrial projects is strongly preferred.
  • Background in process or food industry environments is an asset.
  • Good understanding of industrial installations and site execution constraints.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English
