Agfa is seeking an Project Manager Automation to own and deliver automation solutions from concept to commissioning in a high-tech production setting. You will translate technical challenges into scalable systems that combine hardware and software, while staying hands-on and technically involved on the shop floor.

You will lead end-to-end projects, coordinate with engineering, production and maintenance, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in automation, engineering, or technical projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to diagnose malfunctions and design solutions.
• Fluent in Dutch and English; comfortable working in a bilingual environment.

Your role

As a Project Manager Automation, you lead the design and implementation of automation solutions—from concept to commissioning.

You translate technical challenges into smart, scalable systems, combining hardware and software into robust solutions used daily on the production floor.

You manage projects end-to-end, while staying close to the technology. This is not a purely coordinating role—you remain hands‑on and technically involved.

• Lead automation projects from concept to implementation
• Design and develop innovative hardware and software solutions
• Optimize existing machines and processes to improve performance and reliability
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders (engineering, production, maintenance)
• Ensure smooth implementation and support adoption on the shop floor
• Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation initiatives

Systems we use

Experience with any of the below is considered as a strong benefit for this role:

• DeltaV architecture, configuration, testing, and validation.
• Instrumentation, PID control systems, control topologies (measurement signals, sensors, motors, valves, etc.)
• Ethernet networks, Profibus, Profinet

Your profile

• Preferably 3–5 years of experience in automation, engineering, or a technical project environment
• Strong analytical and technical problem‑solving skills. Diagnosing malfunctions; analyzing, developing, coordinating, and commissioning solutions.
• Strong interest in integrating hardware and software
• Experienced in working with Microsoft Office 365-suite (Word, Excel and Outlook).
• Working knowledge of OneNote, SharePoint, Teams, etc.
• Able to take ownership and drive projects forwardGood communicator and team player
• Fluent in Dutch and English
