g2 Recruitment is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead data center construction and operations in Mons, Belgium. You will oversee construction, fit‑out, or operational projects, coordinating contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to keep critical infrastructure on time, on budget, and to spec.

The role calls for 3–5+ years of PM experience in data centers or critical infrastructure, with knowledge of MEP systems. PMP or PRINCE2 certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of project management experience in data centers or critical infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of MEP (mechanical/electrical/plumbing) systems is a plus.
• PMP, PRINCE2 or similar certification preferred.
• Fluent in English; French is a plus.
• On-site work in Mons; experience coordinating multiple contractor teams.

Responsabilités

• Plan, schedule, and manage data center projects from initiation through handover.
• Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and civil teams, plus external contractors.
• Manage budgets, timelines, and risk registers; report progress to senior stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and industry standards.
• Liaise with local authorities in Mons/Wallonia for permits and inspections.
• Manage change requests and resolve on-site issues quickly to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate commissioning and testing phases for critical infrastructure.

Project Manager – Data Center Construction & Operations - Freelance

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our data center team in Mons. You'll oversee construction, fit‑out, or operational projects at the facility - coordinating contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to keep critical infrastructure projects on time, on budget, and to spec.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and manage data center projects from initiation through handover (construction, expansion, upgrades, or equipment installation)
• Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and civil engineering teams, as well as external contractors and suppliers
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and risk registers; report progress to senior stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, environmental, and industry standards (e.g. Uptime Institute Tier standards)
• Liaise with local authorities in Mons/Wallonia for permits and inspections where required
• Manage change requests and resolve on-site issues quickly to minimize downtime risk
• Coordinate commissioning and testing phases for critical infrastructure (power, cooling, networking)

What We're Looking For

• 3–5+ years of project management experience, ideally in data centers, construction, or critical infrastructure
• Strong understanding of MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) systems is a plus
• PMP, PRINCE2, or similar certification preferred
• Fluent in English; French is a plus
• Comfortable working on-site in Mons and managing multiple contractor teams
• Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with hyperscale or colocation data center environments
• Familiarity with local Belgian/Walloon construction permitting processes
• Background in electrical or mechanical engineering
