Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking a Program Management Officer in Brussels to support delivery of a major cross-border energy infrastructure project. You will join a programme controls team responsible for governance, planning, risk, cost control and reporting across the programme lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has a master's degree and at least five years of experience in project or programme management, with experience in large infrastructure projects and strong stakeholder management.

Program Management Officer

Location: Brussels, Belgium

Duration: 12-month initial contract

Overview

Our client, a leading European electricity transmission infrastructure operator, is seeking a Program Management Officer (PMO) to support the delivery of a major cross-border energy infrastructure project. Working within a large projects division, you will support the successful execution of complex, high-value transmission and interconnection projects that are critical to the energy transition. You will join a programme controls team responsible for governance, planning, risk, cost control and reporting across the programme lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain programme management standards, processes and governance frameworks.
• Support establishment and management of programme baselines for scope, schedule and budget.
• Consolidate cost forecasts, budget estimates and risk provisions.
• Facilitate risk and opportunity management activities.
• Coordinate programme scheduling, milestone tracking and dependency management.
• Produce programme reports and management information for key stakeholders.
• Ensure traceability of programme decisions, changes, risks and performance metrics.
• Coordinate PMO activities and support cross-functional collaboration across project teams.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in project or programme management.
• Experience supporting large infrastructure, engineering or capital projects.
• Strong organisational, planning and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to communicate complex information clearly to senior stakeholders.
• Proactive, solution-focused approach with strong analytical skills.
• Project management certification (PMP, PMI, PRINCE2 or equivalent) desirable.
• Experience with tools such as Primavera P6, SAP, Power BI or similar project controls software is advantageous.
• Fluent English required. Additional European language skills beneficial.
