Atlas Copco Group in Wilrijk seeks a project leader for Energy Conversion Solutions to drive product development from concept to full-scale production.

You will lead cross-functional teams, coach project engineers across international sites, ensure designs comply with ISO, PED and ASME, and manage scope, budget, and timing with executive reporting. The role includes collaboration with purchasing, manufacturing, service and marketing in a hybrid setup at Wilrijk.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in a product development environment is advantageous; knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
• Fluent communication in English across all levels.
• Strong understanding of ISO, PED, ASME and risk management.

What does a project leader – energy conversion solutions do at the Atlas Copco Group in Wilrijk? As a project leader in our recently formed Energy Conversion Solutions team within the Oil-Free Air division, you will lead high-impact product development projects completely from concept and lab prototype to full-scale series production. You will act as the Project Team Manager (PTM), collaborating with cross-functional departments to shape technical designs, production flows, supply chains, sales processes, and aftermarket support.

Your daily flow includes leading cross-functional teams and coaching project engineers both locally and across international facilities (such as India and China). You decide on technical designs in close alignment with purchasing, manufacturing, service, and marketing, and partner with test engineers to execute test programs and evaluate results. Managing project scope, budget, status, and timing, you ensure transparent reporting to executive management. You also apply international standards (ISO, PED, ASME) and risk management strategies throughout the design lifecycle while securing and sharing technical knowledge across the group. You will work via our hybrid model at our facility in Wilrijk.

To succeed, you will need

• Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent through experience, backed by strong general technical knowledge and a passion for product development
• Previous experience in a product development environment is considered a strong advantage; knowledge of Dutch is a plus
• Fluent communication skills in English across all organizational levels, with the confidence to respectfully express science-backed opinions
• Strong understanding and application of international standards and regulations (such as ISO, PED, ASME) and design-based risk management
• Ability to embrace rapid iteration, build cross-departmental networks, and manage expectations and priorities effectively
• Independent, hands-on, and innovative mindset with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and a "can-do" attitude
• Dynamic team player with an inclusive approach and a drive for continuous improvement and learning
