Search X Recruitment in Belgium is seeking a Project Engineer to own construction, refurbishment and upgrade projects across Belgium. You will coordinate architects, contractors, suppliers, authorities and internal stakeholders from concept through handover.

You hold a master’s degree in engineering with 5+ years in construction or technical project environments, and you work independently with a pragmatic, structured approach. Fluency in Dutch, French and English is required.

Delivering infrastructure projects across multiple locations requires more than technical knowledge. You need to connect stakeholders, manage complexity and keep execution moving.

As Project Engineer, you take full ownership of construction, refurbishment and upgrade projects across Belgium. From initial concept through to final handover, you coordinate the different parties involved and ensure projects are delivered according to plan, budget and quality standards. No two projects are the same. Different locations, stakeholders and technical challenges require you to stay structured, pragmatic and decisive.

What will I be doing?

You manage multiple projects from A to Z, including new builds, reconstructions and technical upgrades. You translate business requirements into clear project plans and coordinate architects, contractors, suppliers, authorities and internal stakeholders.

Throughout execution, you remain responsible for planning, budget, quality and progress. You ensure projects comply with local legislation and QHSSE standards and intervene when necessary to keep delivery on track. Because many projects take place at operational locations, you also ensure construction and maintenance activities are organised with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.

You continuously look for opportunities to improve processes, technical solutions and ways of working, while contributing to a strong safety culture. Regular travel to project locations throughout Belgium is an important part of the role.

Sounds good! But am I a fit?

You have a master’s degree in engineering or bring equivalent relevant experience, combined with at least 5 years of experience in construction, infrastructure or technical project environments.

You have experience managing projects independently from preparation through execution and handover. You are comfortable coordinating contractors and other stakeholders and taking responsibility for planning, budget, quality and delivery.

Experience within asset-heavy, industrial or operational environments is a strong advantage. You work independently, take ownership and make decisions confidently. You are structured, solution-oriented and able to maintain oversight across several projects at the same time. Professional fluency in Dutch, French and English is required. For Dutch or French, a basic working level can be sufficient if you are motivated and willing to quickly develop your proficiency to a professional level.

What’s in it for me?

You can expect a gross monthly salary of up to €5,800, depending on your experience, complemented by a standard 13th-month payment and holiday pay.
