Umicore in Antwerp/Hoboken is seeking a Production Manager for the Specialty Metals Unit to lead daily operations and translate priorities into safe, reliable and cost-effective execution. You will focus on delivering results through people, governance, and cross-functional collaboration.

This role requires a master's in a technical field, 5+ years of operational leadership in a complex industrial setting, and strong use of data to drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in chemical engineering, metallurgy, chemistry or related field.
• 5+ years of operational experience in a complex industrial or refining environment.
• Strong leadership in safety, environment, quality, reliability and cost management.
• Experience in production management, planning, budgeting and business processes.
• Data-driven problem solving and stakeholder alignment across levels.
• Fluent Dutch and English, written and spoken.

Responsabilités

• Lead day-to-day operations of the Specialty Metals Unit to meet safety, quality, productivity and cost targets.
• Translate production priorities into short- and mid-term operational plans with clear KPIs.
• Monitor process performance, intervene when required and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Embed safe ways of working and ensure governance and regulatory compliance.
• Develop the operational team across managers, supervisors and staff with feedback and growth opportunities.
• Coordinate with maintenance, process engineering, administration, logistics and other stakeholders for reliable execution.
• Drive asset availability and optimize maintenance costs in collaboration with maintenance.
• Organize yearly shutdowns and capture learning to improve future performance.
• Provide site-wide continuity through Engineer on Duty responsibilities as needed.
