Job summary

Air Products in Ghent is seeking an experienced Process Operator to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient daily operation of our production plant. You will work from the control room and on the shop floor, operating and monitoring processes, adjusting where needed, and contributing to staffing requirements for the plant.

The role requires a technical diploma in Process Techniques, Electromechanics or Chemistry, together with hands-on industrial experience and strong safety awareness.

Qualifications

• Experience as a process operator in an industrial setting.
• Good knowledge of process control from both control room and field.
• Experience applying LOTO and strict safety rules.
• Knowledge of distillation and/or liquid- and gas-separation processes.
• Ability to read and apply P&IDs for troubleshooting and planning.

Responsibilities

• Independently and safely perform operational tasks in production, following safety and quality procedures.
• Operate and monitor production processes via DCS and on-site, optimizing and ensuring continuity.
• Apply LOTO procedures and follow maintenance work safely.
• Interpret P&IDs and use them for work steps and troubleshooting.
• Draft and review work permits; assess risks and implement controls.
• Take samples, perform preventive maintenance, and inspect installations.
• Coach and train drivers and colleagues, sharing knowledge within the team.
