Octave BricsCAD, a global provider of cutting-edge engineering design software, is seeking a highly skilled and visionary Principal Software Developer for our Core-Design Documentation Team. This international team drives the development of our flagship BricsCAD platform, concentrating on the functionality of the BricsCAD Lite & Pro license levels. The team focuses on the 2D and 3D design documentation needs, such as annotating & dimensioning, sheet sets, plot & print, (PDF) output. As part of the Octave family, we aim to redefine the design market by delivering robust, innovative software solutions.

Responsibilities
- Address complex problems with innovative solutions, balancing new feature development and optimization of existing functionalities.
- Shape and refine development processes, promoting efficiency, transparency, and collaboration.
- Contribute to the strategic growth of BricsCAD by aligning technical innovations with organizational goals.
- Mentor and guide developers across international teams, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
- Actively participate in product-wide code reviews, ensuring technical quality and consistency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor, Master, or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of professional experience, predominantly in C++ (minimum C++11).
- Expertise in software design, architecture, and development of complex systems, covering the whole range from core knowledge to implementing an intuitive design.
- Full professional fluency in English.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with DWG file formats, ACIS modeler, or ODA libraries.
- Strong foundation in mathematics (vector geometry & linear algebra, numeric methods, computational geometry, curves & surfaces, differential geometry, topology) is a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with CAD, BIM, or computational geometry.
- Advanced knowledge of C++14/17, boost, Qt (QML), Object‑Oriented Design, and parallel computing.
- Hands‑on experience in optimizing high‑performance systems and creating scalable solutions.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in Scrum teams.
