Sabena Engineering is seeking an experienced aviation maintenance engineer to join its base maintenance team in Belgium. You will coordinate the preparation, quotations, and planning across aircraft types, ensuring documentation is production-ready and aligned with contractual requirements.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, manage changes to workpacks, and maintain close communication with customers to meet deadlines, delivering accurate estimates and smooth project transitions.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in aviation maintenance or equivalent through experience.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance.
• Solution oriented, stress resistant.
• Team player; able to analyse, to synthesize, to prioritise; excellent communicator.
• Customer oriented and service sensitivity.
• Language skills (English and French and/or Dutch).
• IT skills (Microsoft Office).
• Knowledge of AMOS is an asset.

Responsabilités

• Manages the Preparation & Quotation Officers.
• Motivates and involves the team in project preparation for all aircraft types.
• Ensures knowledge development, versatility, and adequate backup capabilities within the team.
• Prepares and issues Workpack, BOM, BOT, BoMhrs.
• Ensures documentation is ready for production execution.
• Drafts the check planning by sequencing task cards.
• Monitors and manages modifications to the work pack until production launch.
• Prepares and participates in pre-input meetings with the customer.
• Records and follows up action items assigned to Sabena Engineering.
• Ensures actions are completed within agreed deadlines.
• Organises and leads the internal kick‑off meeting.
• Formally hands over the prepared project work package to the Project Manager.
• Ensures the transition from preparation phase to execution phase within the contractual framework.
• Maintains customer communication to ensure clarity and timely feedback.

Your Main Responsibilities:

Reporting & Management Responsibility

• Reports to the Base Maintenance Manager.
• Manages the Preparation & Quotation Officers.
• Motivates and involves the team in every stage of project preparation for all aircraft types.
• Ensures knowledge development, versatility, and adequate backup capabilities within the team.

Commercial Support & Quotation Management

• Supports commercial negotiations by preparing quotations.
• Submits quotations to management for review and approval.
• Continuously refines and enriches the quotation database to improve future estimates and project efficiency.
• Analyses and estimates additional or cancellation work items received from customers.
• Submits additional/cancellation item assessments to the Project Manager and Base Maintenance Manager for formal approval or rejection.

Project Preparation & Technical Planning

• Prepares and issues:
  • Workpack
  • Bill of Material (BOM)
  • Bill of Tooling (BOT)
  • Bill of Manhours (BoMhrs)
• Ensures documentation is ready for production execution.
• Drafts the check planning by sequencing task cards.
• Monitors and manages modifications to the work pack until production launch.

Change & Workpack Control

• Responsible for monitoring all changes to the work pack before production launch.
• Ensures all updates, additions, cancellations, and clarifications are properly assessed and integrated into the planning and execution package

Meetings, Handover & Project Coordination

• Prepares and participates in pre-input meetings with the customer.
• Records and follows up action items assigned to Sabena Engineering.
• Ensures actions are completed within agreed deadlines.
• Organises and leads the internal kick‑off meeting.
• Formally hands over the prepared project work package to the Project Manager.
• Ensures the transition from preparation phase to execution phase within the contractual framework.

Customer Coordination & Communication

• Acts as the focal point for the customer during the project preparation phase.
• Maintains communication with customers throughout preparation activities.
• Chases customers to obtain the work pack within contractual deadlines.
• Coordinates with customers regarding unclear, incomplete, missing, or incorrect instructions.
• Follows up responses and reminders with the relevant departments.

Your Profile :

• Engineering degree in aviation maintenance or equivalent through experience.
