A leading engineering firm is seeking an experienced PMS Electrical Commissioning Supervisor to oversee the commissioning of the Power Management System for a large petrochemical plant in Antwerp. Description du poste

We are seeking an experienced PMS Electrical Commissioning Supervisor to oversee the pre-commissioning and commissioning of the Power Management System (PMS) for a large petrochemical plant.

The role is responsible for ensuring the correct integration, testing, and validation of PMS interfaces with all HV and LV electrical systems, in full compliance with design specifications, safety requirements, and commissioning standards. The successful candidate will play a key role in achieving safe, reliable, and efficient plant operation.

Responsibilities
Commissioning Planning
  • Develop detailed PMS loop check and interface plans, including objectives, procedures, and schedules.

  • Coordinate commissioning activities with project engineers and other disciplines to align with the overall project schedule.

  • Review and assess vendor procedures for electrical testing and commissioning.

Testing & Verification
  • Supervise vendors and subcontractors during electrical testing activities, including loop checks, interlocks, and interfaces between PMS and:

    • Power distribution systems

    • Transformers

    • HV and LV switchgears

    • Emergency Diesel Generators (EDGs)

  • Oversee PMS integration tests to ensure safe and correct operation.

Test Procedure Development
  • Prepare or review Commissioning Test Procedures (CTPs) for electrical systems.

  • Define temporary system requirements necessary to support commissioning tests.

  • Prepare vendor testing schedules and identify required plant, equipment, and specialist tools.

Issue Identification & Troubleshooting
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve electrical issues encountered during pre-commissioning and commissioning.

  • Raise and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and coordinate corrective actions with relevant parties.

Documentation & Reporting
  • Prepare and review detailed commissioning reports.

  • Maintain accurate records of commissioning activities, test results, punch lists, and compliance documentation.

Collaboration & Communication
  • Work closely with the Commissioning Manager, project engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.

  • Communicate commissioning progress, results, and issues clearly to all stakeholders.

Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during commissioning activities.

  • Verify that all personnel involved are adequately trained and follow safe working practices.

Final Acceptance & Handover
  • Participate in final acceptance of electrical systems.

  • Support handover to the Operations team, including documentation and operational training.

Qualifications and experience
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Extensive hands‑on experience in electrical commissioning, with specific exposure to PMS.

  • Strong technical knowledge of:

    • Power distribution systems

    • HV/LV electrical equipment

    • Control systems and instrumentation

  • Proven problem‑solving, organizational, and documentation skills.

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
