UCLouvain in Louvain-la-Neuve invites applications for a full-time post-doctoral researcher in media and communication sciences. The successful candidate will join the CLAIM project, bridging law, political science and communication studies, and will conduct research on marginalised actors in international climate-change-related litigation.

Starting January 2027, the fellowship is for one year (with renewal possible) and requires international mobility and Belgian residence.

Qualifications

• PhD in media and communication sciences or language sciences, or an equivalent degree.
• Experience in online data extraction (digital social media).
• Interest in ecology, the environment, and climate litigation.
• Interest in decolonial issues and sensitivity to marginalised actors.
• Strong writing skills, openness to interdisciplinary work, ability to learn software tools.
• Fluency in English and French; knowledge of Spanish is an asset.
• Willingness to relocate to Belgium for the fellowship.
• Must meet UCLouvain conditions for postdoctoral fellowships.

Responsabilités

• Within the CLAIM project, develop research activities to analyse communicational and discursive dimensions of international climate litigation.
• Collaborate in producing a database listing international climate litigation cases, particularly those initiated by marginalised actors.
• Produce scientific publications and presentations in collaboration with the CLAIM project researchers.
• Participate in coordinating the research team.
