Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to advance kinetic modeling for plasma-assisted combustion (PAC) as part of the ERC Starting Grant ESCAPADE. The project aims to develop predictive multi-physics simulation tools for cleaner, more efficient combustion of sustainable fuels, combining ab initio calculations, experiments, and data-driven approaches.

Qualifications

• PhD in engineering, chemistry, physics, or applied mathematics with a focus on kinetics, combustion, fluid dynamics, or plasma physics.
• Experience in numerical simulation and high computational skills.
• Programming experience in Fortran/Python/C++.
• Familiarity with CFD software (Ansys Fluent/OpenFOAM) is a plus.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
