Ghent University (UGent) in Belgium invites applications for a PhD vacancy focused on the finite element modelling and design of pressurized composite hydrogen tanks. The project is conducted within UGent-MMS in collaboration with industrial partners and academic colleagues.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent required; strong interest in computational mechanics of composites.
• Background in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proficient in English; Dutch not required.

Responsabilités

• Conduct finite element modelling and design of pressurized composite tanks in various operating conditions.
• Collaborate closely with industrial partners and other researchers.
• Publish results in peer‑reviewed journals and present at international conferences.
• Work as part of multidisciplinary team in a large hydrogen storage project.
