Job summary

European Tech Alliance in Brussels is seeking a Policy Officer to own the privacy and data portfolio, among other files. You’ll join a small team where everyone’s work is visible and counts.

The role offers autonomy with direct contact to senior policymakers across Europe and the chance to shape EU rules on data, from the Digital Omnibus to the GDPR review. Start no later than January 2027.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years in EU public affairs, at an association, consultancy, company or institution.
• Experience running an EU policy campaign from start to finish.
• A network in EU institutions you can use from day one.
• Interest in tech, ideally European tech, with knowledge of privacy or fintech rules.
• Clear, persuasive writing in English; French or German a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead EUTA’s work on privacy and data, starting with the Digital Omnibus and the Digital Fitness Check.
• Turn input from members into clear positions, papers and amendments.
• Meet officials at the Commission, Parliament, Council and Permanent Representations, and build relationships that last.
• Help run campaigns, from the storyline to the events and the follow up.
• Work closely with policy leads at our member companies.
• Share the load with the rest of the team when priorities shift.

The European Tech Alliance brings together around 40 of Europe’s leading tech companies, all born and built in Europe. In Brussels, we speak for them on the EU rules that shape how they grow. The next few years will shape how Europe regulates data, from the Digital Omnibus to the GDPR review.

What you bring

• Around 5 to 7 years in EU public affairs, whether at an association, a consultancy, a company or an institution
• Experience running an EU policy campaign from start to finish
• A network in the EU institutions you can use from day one
• A real interest in tech, ideally European tech, and some knowledge of privacy, data or fintech rules
• Clear, persuasive writing in English. French or German is a plus.
• The ability to work well in a small team, pick things up quickly and learn from the people around you
