V2X is seeking a senior plumber and technical lead for the Public Works Department. The role oversees all plumbing operations, ensures safety and environmental standards, and provides technical guidance to teams while supporting QA/QC audits under LOGCAP V / V2X standards.

Requirements include master plumbing license, OSHA 30/LOTO training, and extensive field experience. Willingness to work on-call and coordinate with supervisors and customers is essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and master-level plumbing experience or equivalent.
  • OSHA 30 certification and LOTO training are required within 90 days of hire; advanced safety leadership training preferred.
  • Master plumbing license or equivalent is required; water treatment certification and related credentials are preferred.

Acts as senior plumber and technical lead for the Public Works Department. Oversees all plumbing operations, including water distribution, sewage, and wastewater system maintenance. Plans and reviews work orders, inspects installations for compliance with IPC/UPC and DPW requirements, and ensures safety and environmental standards are met. Provides technical guidance to teams and supports QA/QC audits under LOGCAP V / V2X standards. Complete other duties as assigned


Responsibilities

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.



  • Correctly and efficiently completes installation, modification and repairs of various plumbing systems and equipment, e.g., replaces defective pipes, fittings, fixtures, and valves

  • Accurately tests completed work for proper drainage, flow and venting

  • Properly measures, fabricates and installs odd size adjoining parts and/or improvises installations when blueprints and sketches do not provide sufficient Information.

  • Properly uses, maintains, and accounts for all types of hand and/or power tools as required, to accomplish assigned duties.

  • Skill in the use of any of the accepted trade methods and techniques, such as wiping and pouring lead joints, seating equipment, and installing any combinations of couplings, unions, and joint need for proper operation of the systems.

  • Assemble pipe sections, tubing, and fitting using coupling, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment.

  • Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks

  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe to required angles, using hand and power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines, and pipe-bending machines

  • Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves and water heaters and fixtures such as sinks and toilets, using hand and power tools

  • Cut openings in structures to accommodate pipes and pipe fitting equipment to join plumbing to fixtures

  • Be able to perform on call duties after normal duty hours and on weekends and holidays.

  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications


  • Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

    • High school diploma or equivalent

    • Master-level plumbing experience or equivalent

    • Leadership over multi-crew operations

    • Advanced knowledge of plumbing codes and standards

    • Valid driver’s license



  • Certificates

    • OSHA 30 (OSHA 500 preferred) (required within 90 days of hire)

    • LOTO program administrator training (required within 90 days of hire)

    • Advanced safety leadership training (required within 90 days of hire)

    • Master plumbing license (Or equivalent, required)

    • Water treatment certification (Preferred)

    • Backflow tester certification (Preferred)

    • Water distribution operator certification (Preferred)

    • Cross-connection control authority certification (Preferred)

    • Industrial utilities certification (Preferred)\"



  • Preferred Qualifications:

    • Evidence of completion of trade school and/or a minimum of Four (4) years of apprenticeship training preferred.

    • A minimum of ten (10) years plumbing and/or mechanical-pipefitting systems experience,



  • Skills:

    • Ability to work extended periods of times, shift work, and on-call.

    • Able to plan, order material and coordinate work with Supervisors and customers.

    • Ability to work alone or work in a team environment.

    • Possess excellent oral, written, and communication skills.

    • Ability to address a wide variety of audiences.

    • Strong attention to detail and ability to execute on multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    • Must be able to interact with the customer and company employees in a courteous, professional, and effective manner.



  • Working Conditions:

    • Must be capable of working in a tropical weather condition with temperatures exceeding 85 degrees Fahrenheit.

    • Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, wet, tropical environment with average temperatures of 85 degrees in the summer months).

    • The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.

    • The worker is subject to environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes.



  • Physical Requirements:

    • Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

    • Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.

    • Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.

    • Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
