Job summary

CluePoints is seeking a Platform Engineering Manager to head the SRE team within the Infrastructure and Security department. You will lead the team responsible for cloud infrastructure reliability and work with Engineering, Product, Release, and Information Security colleagues to transform clinical research through data-driven insights.

The role requires strong cloud and automation experience, plus leadership and clear communication to drive platform resilience and security across environments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in SRE or platform/infrastructure engineering, including 2+ years leading engineers and managing technical roadmaps and projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the SRE team: hiring, mentoring, and setting technical direction.
• Shape and deliver the cloud infrastructure roadmap for Azure and Kubernetes, platform upgrades, and cloud cost.
• Drive infrastructure as code and self-service provisioning, minimizing manual intervention.
• Own availability and reliability, from SLO/SLAs, error budgets, and monitoring to on-call and incident response.
• Keep the platform secure, current, and resilient with identity and secrets management, network security, and vulnerability remediation.
• Lead and assist with platform migrations, delivering safe, dependable deployments across environments.
• Automate operational work and build controls that produce audit-ready evidence, in line with ISO 27001 and GxP requirements.

The Role

We're looking for a Platform Engineering Manager to head the SRE team within our Infrastructure and Security department, and contribute to our mission of transforming clinical research through data-driven insights. You'll lead the team behind the cloud infrastructure and reliability of the CluePoints platform, working closely with Engineering, Product, Release, and Information Security colleagues.

Job Requirements

• 7+ years in SRE or platform/infrastructure engineering, including 2+ years of leading engineers and of managing technical roadmaps and projects.
• Strong cloud infrastructure experience, ideally Azure and Kubernetes (AKS), with a track record of automating deployments and removing manual operational work.
• Solid infrastructure-as-code experience, and comfortable coding for automation.
• Hands-on experience with observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana/Loki, DataDog, or ElasticSearch.
• Experience leading incident response and owning platform resilience and recovery, from design through testing and evidencing the results.
• Sound technical judgement and clear communication, able to explain trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership.

Nice to Have

• B2B SaaS experience in a heavily regulated environment (e.g. pharma, telco, banking) and comfort working under formal change control.
• Experience running platform upgrade or migration programmes at scale, ideally including CI/CD platform migrations.
• Hands-on experience with GitLab CI and GitHub Actions.

• Own availability and reliability, from SLO/SLAs, error budgets, and monitoring to on-call and incident response that turns post-incident learning into lasting improvement.
• Keep the platform secure, current, and resilient, from identity and secrets management, network security and vulnerability remediation to version lifecycle and recovery testing.
• Lead and assist with platform migrations, partnering with key stakeholders to deliver safe, dependable deployments across environments.
• Automate operational work and build controls that produce audit-ready evidence, in line with ISO 27001 and GxP requirements, acting as the primary contact for auditors and customers on infrastructure topics.
