KU Leuven seeks a four-year PhD researcher to forecast Flemish labour market supply, focusing on school leavers, skills, and transitions. You will develop models to map future occupations and skills, aligning with sectoral demand and policy needs.

You will work under leading researchers, contributing to policy-relevant insights for education, training providers, and public employment services. Start date as soon as possible; closing on 2026-10-16.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with cum laude or distinction, preferably also during advanced research Master’s
• Strong skills in statistical, econometric and quantitative data analysis; experience with statistical software
• Fluent in Dutch and proficient in English; excellent academic writing
• Driven, team-oriented researcher who can work independently and meet deadlines

Responsabilités

• Develop forecasting models to estimate which occupations school leavers may enter in the future and the skills they bring
• Investigate how current workers can contribute to future labour supply via reskilling and career transitions
