UCB is seeking a Pharmacometrics Lead to strengthen the Quantitative Clinical Pharmacology group, guiding a team of pharmacometricians across sites in Slough, Monheim or Braine. The role focuses on pediatric drug development, neurology and immunology, with leadership responsibilities to grow expertise and staff capabilities.

You will work with global heads to integrate pharmacometrics into programs, oversee strategies for dose selection, extrapolation, and trial design, and promote collaboration

Qualifications

  • PhD or MD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Statistics or Engineering.
  • 8+ years in Pharmacometrics with at least 2 years in line management.
  • Hands-on PK/PD, disease progression modeling and clinical trial simulations.
  • Strong knowledge of Bayesian methods, model-based meta-analyses, PBPK, QSP, and AI/ML in Pharmacometrics.
  • Expertise with pharmacometrics software such as R and NONMEM.

Responsabilités

  • Coach and mentor junior staff within the Pharmacometrics team.
  • Lead and deliver the Pharmacometrics strategy to support asset development, dose selection, and trial design.
  • Perform hands-on population PK/PD analyses and exposure–response modeling on assigned projects.
  • Develop submission-ready pharmacometrics analysis plans and reports.
  • Oversee outsourced pharmacometrics activities and internalize work as needed.
  • Maintain working knowledge of regulatory pathways globally and engage with health authorities in pediatrics, neurology, and immunology.
  • Promote MID3 internally and externally.

Pharmacometrics Lead

We are looking for a Pharmacometrics Lead who is innovative and agile to strengthen our Quantitative Clinical Pharmacology group, based at our research site in Slough (UK), Monheim (Germany) or Braine (Belgium).

About The Role

Bringing experience in the application of pharmacometrics to pediatric drug development, Neurology and Immunology, with the aspiration to lead/manage more junior staff, to contribute to the teams’ development and grow expertise and skills in these areas.

Who You’ll Work With

Reporting to the Global Head of Pharmacometrics, you’ll be leading a team of Pharmacometricians, from both a technical and scientific perspective, to ensure state of the art pharmacometrics approaches are applied to optimize drug discovery and development.

Working closely with the QCP Leads assigned to the various projects, to ensure clear integration of the pharmacometrics aspects into the programs.

What You’ll Do
  • Coaching and mentoring junior staff on how to navigate within a project and matrix organization.
  • Leading and delivering the Pharmacometrics strategy to support development of our assets. extrapolation (where appropriate), dose selection, trial design, PIP development and ongoing evaluation of data as generated.
  • Performing hands‑on population PK/PD, exposure‑response modeling and clinical trial simulations on an assigned project.
  • Developing submission ready fit for purpose Pharmacometrics analysis plans and reports.
  • Initiating and overseeing outsourced pharmacometrics activities and further internalizing the work as needed.
  • Having a working knowledge about the regulatory pathways on a global basis and opportunities for collaboration with health authorities (either through working parties, advice meetings, and other initiatives) in pediatrics, Neurology and Immunology.
  • Promoting MID3 internally and externally.
Qualifications
  • Doctorate (PhD or MD) in the related disciplines of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Statistics or Engineering.
  • 8+ years (Bio)pharmaceutical industry experience in Pharmacometrics with minimum of 2 years line management responsibilities.
  • Hands‑on experience in population PK/PD, disease progression modeling, and clinical trial simulations.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of Bayesian methodologies, model‑based meta‑analyses, PBPK, QSP, and AI/ML in Pharmacometrics.
  • Expertise in R, NONMEM or related pharmacometrics software.
